Cetera’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Council is a united team of dedicated change agents, with diverse perspectives, committed to serving the organization and all its communities and constituents along our journey to become a leader and model for our industry and each other. Members lead and support different functions across our entire business and have a direct impact on the priorities and policies of their respective divisions. By convening regularly and having open conversations about the work in progress and future efforts, the team is ensuring a continued organizational focus on diversity and inclusion at every level.
By participating in the CEO Action Pledge—a collective of business leaders across all industries who are committed to advancing workplace diversity and inclusion—we bring increased accountability and momentum to our efforts to create sustainable change.
Within the Cetera community, informal employee groups have existed locally for some time. Based on employee feedback and interest, we have launched formal Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) across the organization. ERGs at Cetera are voluntary, employee-led groups whose focus is to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace for all. Over the coming months, we will continue to build new groups and promote membership and awareness within our Cetera community. Our active ERGs include:

- Veterans' ERG, led by Summer Pretzer and Jon Brenner
- Women’s ERG, led by Summer Arnold, Pru Koehler, Natalya Zernitskaya, Rajat Wadhwani, and Karina Munji

Simply put, the need for financial guidance has never been greater, and it’s our responsibility to support our financial professionals in delivering sound, personalized recommendations to all the American investors who seek their help. With our Advice-Centric Experience® approach as our north star, we’ll continue to develop the guidance-focused capabilities and tools that financial professionals can use to reach more diverse and traditionally underserved communities with the strategies needed to create stronger financial futures.
Additionally, to bring our financial professionals’ voices to the forefront, we work closely with a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging council led by individuals across our entire financial professional community. This council will host networking events, call series, and additional opportunities to increase engagement and collaborate on bringing a more equitable future to life.

To help encourage greater representation and access within our profession for the long term, our financial professional-led philanthropy, Caring Cetera, launched the Diversity in Financial Planning Scholarship. The scholarship program offers financial and mentorship support for students from communities that are traditionally underrepresented in financial services as they pursue their financial planning career.
