Cetera has announced its newest bank, First Western Bank & Trust has joined its banking division, Cetera Investment Services. First Western Bank & Trust was founded by the Hoeven family and has been a community bank in operation since 1964. Headquartered in Minot, ND it has grown to $1.7 billion in assets and services clients throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. The bank caters its financial offering to families, entrepreneurs, business owners and verticals such as oil, energy, farming, manufacturing and more.

Operating as a full-service financial services provider, the bank provides traditional banking products as well as trust services, insurance, leasing, and more. By affiliating with Cetera, the bank will expand its offering to include financial planning, investment and wealth management services. The expansion creates opportunity for annuity, life insurance and 529 plan product lines. Additionally, the firm plans to enhance its technology via platforms like AdviceWorks and enhance integration with its trust department for a more seamless client experience.

Connie Gregory, Head of New Business Development of Cetera Financial Institutions, said, “First Western Bank & Trust has a longstanding history of providing outstanding, relationship-focused banking solutions to its clients. Expanding those solutions to include holistic financial guidance with an investment component will contribute to more Americans having access to solid financial guidance. This relationship also creates job opportunities for those looking to become licensed investment advisors and expand their service offering as a financial professional.”

“Providing legacy financial planning from grandparents to grandkids and onto the next generation is something we’ve valued since our bank’s beginnings. This aligns with Cetera’s mission to extend an Advice-Centric Experience® to more clients. We’re looking forward to offering clients expanded products and to growing together by leveraging Cetera’s tools and services to meet clients where they are at,” said Shawn Dye, Trust Officer, First Western Bank and Trust.
