All three major U.S. equity indices fell sharply last week, extending losses for the Dow Industrials and S&P 500 to cap their worst April performances since 1970. For the month, the benchmark S&P 500 fell 8.72%, its biggest monthly loss since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.
